Amala Family Welfare Centre (AFWC) is a division of Chavara Cultural Centre Calicut, Which is directly under the control of CMI fathers. AFWC is formed with an objective for promoting healthy and peaceful families in our community. This is the vision of the Blessed Cyriac  Elias Chavara, the founder of the CMI congregation. The AFWC is named after him. It has been functioning well in this field since 1996.

Getting married is an important step for all adults around the world as a man and woman pledge their commitment to each other as a husband and wife. In Indian culture there is a very strong emphasis on the family unit, hence marriage is a comerstone of Indian culture.

Traditionally marriages have been arranged. These arrangements are often arranged between the parents of the man and women who either know each other or were introduced through family and friends. However as times have changed, the world has globalized, Indians have spread to every comer of the world, and expectations in marriage are different. This has had an effect to matrimony, in particular the way in which proposals are found and made.

Our goal with Amala Matrimony is to establish ourselves as being able to provide the link necessary to bring Indian men and women together in marriage in the modern world.
